Montgomery County Welcomes Self-Driving Shuttle

An autonomous vehicle is now on the roads of Montgomery County.

The Olli, an eight-passenger electric shuttle, will traverse a half-mile stretch on Gateway Center Drive between two offices run by Robotic Research, the company that provides the self-driving software.

It’s the first time Maryland’s Department of Transportation has granted permission for an autonomous vehicle to operate in the county. [WTOP]
