Hood Fields Unmanned Vehicles Tests

Soldiers from 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment participated in an unusual experience last week providing feedback on a system that could be considered the future of combat.

The system, being developed by General Dynamics Robotic Systems, will support a wide range of operations including resupply, convoy, patrols and route clearance.

Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch, III Corps and Fort Hood commander, agreed to have the system showcased at Fort Hood because of his passion for robotics. Lynch, a graduate of Military Institute of Technology, believes that robots could be very effective in combat and save lives. [click on the title to link to the article]
